My Beautiful Dylan

The first of four historical archivals/retirements has happened. Ruthie Smithens is now sold out from AG on-line and I'm sad to see such a beautiful doll leave but a week or so ago I took my Dylan out for a photo shoot to help those who were on the fence about her push them over. LOL These were originally posted on Instagram over a number of days but you get to enjoy them all at one time. (^_^)

I'm soo happy my DH and DD bought her for me for as a Christmas/Anniversary present this past year. There are no more gray eyed dolls in the AG line up and I'm fortunate enough to own one of them.

Farewell Ruthie Smithens, you will be missed!

    2. Thanks! I got her off eBay second hand, because I couldn't afford a new one. She is such a stunning doll and I'm having so much fun with her!

    3. That makes her more special. ^^ Almost all of my girls are secondhand with the exceptions of #49, #58 and Ruthie as they were gifts from my hubby. (^_^)

  3. You really captured the beauty of those grey eyes here!

Such a shame that AG doesn't have any other dolls with those - but maybe they will again, I hope!

I agree it is sad there aren't any gray eyed dolls anymore.

    2. After the retirement of Molly they no longer use grey eyes particularly for the reason of silver eye. I doubt they would make another doll with grey eyes. Silver eye happens a lot to grey-eyed dolls and thank God it hasn't happened to my Molly yet, I'm keeping her in great condition and hope anyone who has a grey-eyed doll does too.

    1. Silver Eye is a defect in the eye of American Girl dolls where the inner eye decal begins to detach from the eye. The eye begins to take on a silver look from the detachment. This generally happens with specific eye types, primarily the "pinwheel" decaled eyes.

      According to http://americangirl.wikia.com/wiki/Silver_Eye ^^
